The short answer
Is Cropped a good Zight alternative?
Yes, if you want to edit before you share. Cropped records with no length limit at up to 120 fps, marks up screenshots and videos, makes GIFs with full control and, with Pro, sends links people comment on. Zight is better if you need its Zendesk and Jira integrations.

Switching
Is Zight the same as CloudApp?
Yes. CloudApp renamed itself Zight.
Can Cropped make GIFs?
Yes. Turn any recording into a GIF with loop, color and dithering controls, or turn a GIF into an MP4.
Is there a time limit on recordings?
No. Cropped doesn’t limit how long a recording can be, on any plan.
Does Cropped work on Windows and Linux?
Cropped runs on Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel, macOS 14 or later), 64-bit Windows 11 and Ubuntu 24.04 or later with GNOME (Linux is in Beta). One license covers all three. A few things are Mac only for now, like the camera bubble, Webpage only and Smooth Scroll. See every difference.
