License, trial and updates
Free trial
Cropped comes with a 14-day free trial with every feature. Click Start free trial at the top of the Studio, or Start 14-day trial in Preferences › App. No payment details are needed, and the trial works offline until it ends.
When the trial ends, you can still open and edit files and save results you've already made. New exports need a lifetime license.
Buy a lifetime license
Click Buy in the license panel or go to cropped.app/buy. One payment covers the app for life, including future updates and new features such as capture.
Activate your license
- Copy the license code from your purchase email. It starts with crop_.
- In Cropped, open Preferences › App, or click the license button at the top of the Studio.
- Click Activate a license code, paste the code and click Activate key.
The top of the Studio then shows Lifetime activated.
Lost your code?
Click Recover a purchased license in Cropped, or go to cropped.app/billing/recover, and enter the email you bought with.
Using Cropped offline
A lifetime license checks in with the license server about once a month and keeps working offline for 90 days after the last check. If Cropped says "Connect to the internet once so Cropped can confirm your license", connect and click Check again.
Your images and videos are never uploaded, with or without a license check.
Updates
Cropped checks for new versions and shows a banner such as "v0.3.3 is available" at the top of the Studio. Click Download to get the installer in your browser, then open it to update. Nothing installs by itself. Click Later to skip that version. You can also click Check for updates in Preferences › App.
After an update, Cropped shows what's new. The full history is on the Updates page.
