Record a website with Smooth Scroll
On Mac, open Preferences → Capture → Smooth Scroll. Enter the full HTTP or HTTPS website URL, select breakpoints, choose a 60 FPS target (or experimental 120 FPS), then Record website. Cropped opens a separate browser, records each selected size and saves the videos locally to capture history.

Choose the scroll duration per breakpoint. Each take also holds for a second at the top and bottom. The review list shows saved dimensions, duration, average encoded video FPS and the page's measured animation-frame rate. Open in Studio opens a take for editing, captions, browser frames and export. The Drop Zone also offers Open in Studio for captures and saved files.
Frame rate and browser behavior
60 and 120 FPS are targets. The current built-in WebKit browser can stay near 60 Hz even on a 120 Hz display; 120 FPS remains experimental. Your display, the page's rendering and encoder load determine the actual rate. Still holds can lower the average file rate. Cropped preserves real frames; choosing 120 does not invent additional page motion. A Mac with a 60 Hz display cannot supply a 120 FPS live page recording.
The dedicated browser uses macOS WebKit with an ephemeral session. It does not use Chrome or Safari cookies, passwords or tabs. These are responsive CSS viewport checks, not emulation of iOS, touch behavior or mobile browser engines. Each breakpoint loads fresh; authenticated pages may show their login screen. Sound, camera and microphone are off.
Cropped scrolls the document from top to its initially measured bottom. Sites with nested scroll containers, scroll interception, infinite feeds or lazy loading may need a manual recording. The capture stops after the selected duration. If the site prevents document scrolling, Cropped saves the partial take and explains that the batch stopped.
Keep the capture browser open while it records. Stop capture cancels the remaining batch and retains captures already saved. Closing the browser or pausing from the recording bar ends the automated run; any saved originals stay in capture history. Closing Cropped marks the interrupted run on the next launch.
All recordings are stored on your Mac. Loading the website makes normal network requests to that website; Cropped does not upload the recordings.
