What's new in Cropped 0.3.42
Cropped 0.3.42 is about talking videos: cut the pauses and ums out automatically, then fine-tune the edit by its words. It's also easier to install on a Mac.
At a glance
- Jump Cuts. Cropped finds the pauses, restarted takes, ums and uhs and distorted sound in a talking video and cuts them for you. Check every cut first, pick a hard cut, punch-in or dip, and see how much shorter it gets. See Jump Cuts.
- Bloopers reel. Turn everything Jump Cuts cut into its own short video, just for fun. See Bloopers reel.
- Edit a video from its words. In the Captions tab, pick captions and cut them from the video, or show them again anytime. Double-click a caption to change its text. See Edit a video from its words.
- A simpler Mac install. Drag Cropped into Applications like any other app, and it offers to move itself there if you open it from Downloads. See Install Cropped on a Mac.
- Nothing extra to download on a Mac. Video export and the captions engine are built in now. The speech model for captions still downloads once, the first time you make captions.
- Lost your key? Click Lost your key? Email it to me in the license panel, and Cropped emails it to the address you bought with. See License.
- Fixed: a long Resume editing list on the home screen now scrolls instead of hiding the top of the window.
Update
Cropped updates itself: click Restart to update when it appears at the bottom of the Studio's queue. See App updates. Every release is listed on the Updates page.
